We would like to thank all our participants, speakers, partners and sponsors for making this year's conference an outstanding and extraordinary event.

We are looking forward to 2012.

The second day of the EVOTE conference covered several aspects on the operation, evaluation and verification of Electronic and Internet Voting Systems as well as concrete examples have been subject of discussions. The second part of sessions was dominated by political scientific papers.

The second day's highlight was the Council's of Europe panel discussion on the future of Internet Voting and Electronic Democracy. Michael Remmert (Council of Europe) chaired the panel on which Donetta Davidson (Election Assistance Commission), Kai Reinhard (Micromata) and Professor Norbert Kersting (Stellenbosch University) were discussing international trends and developments as well as challenges and risks of Internet Voting and E-Democracy.

The last official part was the Best Paper Award. After intense discussions the Program Committee decided to award Laetizia Caporusso from the University Trento with the Best Paper Award. Her paper and presentation on "The Role of Trust, Participation and Identity in the Propensity to E- & I-Vote" convinced the committee. We congratulate her for this outstanding success and hope to be able to welcome her at the EVOTE2012 as well.

The second conference day closed with the famous and world-known Käsestrasse organised by the fabulous staff from Castle Hofen.

So the first day of this year's EVOTE2010 conference, the 4th International Conference on Electronic Voting in Bregenz is over and the official paper presentations and discussions started.

Yesterday evening the pre-conference program started with the POLYAS Welcome Cocktail at which our participants immediately started networking and exchanging ideas as well discussed recent trends. The opening speech of Kai Reinhard, CEO of Micromata, was the shortest opening speech of a sponsor I experienced at a conference so far.

Before the evening event, the Council of Europe invited to a small workshop on e-enabled elections, transparency and certification of such elections.
There, several experts discussed the drafts of guidelines for a general overview, transparency issues and certification of e-enabled elections.

Pictures and impressions are available on facebook and later here on our website.

As the conference starts in a few hours, we would like to take the opportunity to thank our co-organizers, partners and sponsors.
They deserve the credit for providing us the sufficient means to make this event happen and organize the worlds most interesting and diverse conference on Electronic Voting.
